SEW A BAG FOR YOUR MASK
The endless searching for a mask in your handbag … does that sound familiar? We have designed a pattern to sew yourself a bag for your mask. So that your masks are always handy when on the go.
Since sewing the mask bag is a bit tricky, we have taken photos for every step of the sewing process. And when you’ve got the hang of it, you’ll want to sew more than just a bag for your mask! You can also use the pattern for a cosmetic bag and many other uses.

For the bag you will need approx. 45 x 40 cm of fabric. We recommend coated fabrics or artificial leather for this sewing project – textiles with surfaces that can be cleaned and disinfected quickly and easily.
We sewed our mask bag from Milliblu’s twill with foil printing. Are you a fabric retailer and do you want to include this fabric in your range? You can find the twill in our shop under item no: 990197.
(Please not that the seam allowance is already included in the pattern)
Cutting
Cut the pocket pattern piece twice and transfer the markings on the pocket flap to the wrong side of the fabric.
Sewing
Place both fabric pieces right sides together and sew the two pocket flaps together, to the width of the presser foot from one mark to the next. Please make sure that your seams start and end exactly on the markings.
Now sew the underside (the straight, short edge of the fabric) together.
Unfold the bag parts so that the lining and the outer fabric are right sides together: the lining on one side and the outer fabric on the other.
Sew the bag parts together only up to the seam of the pocket flap. Make sure that the bottom seam (the straight, short edge of the fabric) is not caught up when sewing. Fold this seam to the side as you sew.
Leave a small turning opening in the lining.
Turn the bag right side out and close the opening.
Slide the lining into the pocket, sew on a buttonhole and button. A push button or a magnetic closure are of course also a great alternative!
We hope you like our instructions and we hope you enjoy sewing it!
Stay healthy and take care of yourself and your loved ones!
