CUSHION WITH ENVELOPE CLOSURE

Would you like to sew yourself a cushion? One without a zipper and buttons? The solution is called “envelope cover”. This pattern is perfect for beginners.

What is an envelope fastening: The fabric at the open end of the cover is folded inwards a little on one side and sewn on the edge.

What do you need?

Material:

Coated / woven cotton: 55 cm x 140 cm + 1 cm
Sewing machine
Clips and pins
Scissors
Tape measure
Pen / tailor’s chalk
Iron

Pattern

• Cut the fabric (including seam allowance) to the dimensions 52 cm x 124 cm.• Measure 3 cm from the edge and fold the fabric twice• Then sew. Now lay the fabric with the wrong side on your sewing table. Fold the two outer sides as follows and pin them in place.
• Sew all four edges with a seam allowance of 1 cm

• Pull your pillowcase right side out.

• Now all you have to do is fill your cover.
